I moved to New York City in 2002 with an internship at the Juilliard School. For the next eleven years, I honed my craft of building custom couture garments for actors and dancers, most notably at Martha Graham Dance Company, Paul Taylor Dance Company, and Ballet Academy East. I fell into building garments for weddings starting with a friend’s request; word-of-mouth spread, eventually inspiring the creation of Fermata Designs.
When the NYC grind got to be too much, The Husband and I up and moved to Nashville, where I’m currently the Costume Shop Manager at Nashville Ballet. All my free time is now split between hiking to waterfalls and slowly renovating the small house I lovingly refer to as Tinderbox.
