Rachel’s Grandmother wore this gown in the 1930s. Over the years the gown had become delicate. Some of the fabric had even dry rotted. But with care and meticulous handwork, the lace was restored. New fabric replaced what could not be reused. Rachel was able to wear her Grandmother’s handmade gown eighty years later.
